Welcome to Kindergarten!
This is going to be a wonderful year and I look forward to working with your child. I am excited about meeting you and welcome you at any time to visit the classroom. I would like to start off the year by providing you with some helpful information about Willis Road and our classroom.

School starts at 8:00. If you arrive later, you must sign your child in at the office. If your child is absent, please send in a written excuse upon returning to school. Children may come to the classroom as early as 7:30. Kindergarten will dismiss at 2:30.
Celebrations
Class celebrations are permitted each year for Christmas and Valentine’s Day only. We will recognize students with birthdays in the classroom but birthday parties are not allowed. Students will also be recognized at the end of the month with a cookie in the cafeteria. If you are interested in celebrating your child’s birthday, I would suggest purchasing ice cream (at lunch) for the entire class.
Folders
Your child will have two folders. The green one will be sent home on Mondays with information and the previous weeks work. Please check it each week. Sometimes there will be things that need to be signed and returned. You may keep your child's work. Please return the green folder each Tuesday. The blue folder will be sent home everyday. It will have information about your child's behavior and homework. Please check it daily and return it the next day. The blue folder is also a good place to place any notes to me or money. Meal Prices/Ice Cream/Snacks
>Breakfast is $1.00
>Lunch is $2.00
>We use an automated lunch system. You will receive your child's number, please practice it at home.
>You may pay weekly, monthly, or for the whole year. Please make checks payable to Willis Road
>You also have the option of packing your child's lunch. All drink/food items should be tightly sealed and should not require heating.
>Ice Cream is available on Friday for $1.00
>We will have a snack time each afternoon. You may send a snack for your child if you choose.
The school provides most of our supplies, however I do have a wish list.
>Antibacterial wipes or Baby wipes
>12 glue sticks
>24 pack of crayons
>Kleenex
>Towel for Rest Time
>Zip Lock bags
Transportation
Please make sure we know how your child will be going home. If there is a change it needs to be made in writing. This is for your child's safety.
Visitors
All visitors should sign in at the office and receive a visitors badge. We welcome any parent or grandparents who would like to volunteer. Please contact me if you would like to volunteer.

Money
Any money that is sent to school should be in an envelope labeled with my name and your child's name, the amount and what the money is for. Please keep ice cream money and lunch money separate.
Rest Time
Quiet time is provided each day. This time allows children to rest and relax. You will need to provide a large towel for rest time, no mats or large blankets please.
Specials
We will have specials classes each week. Specials include Physical Education, Music, Media center, Computer and counseling with Ms. Orr. Due to the large number of kindergarten students, our class will divide up and join in with other kindergarten classes. You will receive an individualized schedule later.
