Teaching Experience:

I am a graduate of Xavier University, Louisiana.  I am currently in my thirteeth year of teaching.  I have taught grades K-4.  My teaching career began in Orleans Parish where I taught for 10 years before coming to Georgia.    I began  teaching  at Willis Road in January, 2006.  I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. 

Background:

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.  I have been married to my husband, Philip, for 19 years.  I have three lovely sons, Philip, Courtney and Cameron.  My son, Cameron is a student here at Willis Road.  I am happy and proud to be a teacher and parent of Willis Road Elementary.  I hope that you and your child will also enjoy being a part of the Willis Road family.

My Philosophy of Teaching:

I believe that every child's education should be a practical and positive experience.  Learning in the classroom should connect, in some way, to life outside of the classroom.  Every child has the ability to achieve in some way.  It is my responsibility to foster and facilitate learning in a positive classroom climate. I believe that self esteem is a direct link to motivation.  Therefore, it is my job to make sure that each child leaves kindergarten confident and with a love for learning.
